Separating The Wheat And The Tares

When I finally came to the decision to commit myself to God, my lifestyle became one of prayer and focus on the things of God.  I would pray well into the night and I spent my days looking forward to going home and having  that intimate prayer time.  During this time in my life I was a little short on money so I rented a room downstairs to a guy I met through a friend.  Within a few weeks of him moving in I realized he was living a very sinful lifestyle.  Day after day he would come home and tell me all the things he was doing and then he would tell me about all the good things that were happening to him.  Everything I was desiring from God, this guy was getting.  I would be crying out to God for help and his life seemed to be getting better and better.  I even became frustrated with God…What was the purpose to do good, if  the evil ones would continue to be blessed without repentance and respect for God.  God spoke to me and said that evil was for a season and that the blessings of the righteous are for eternity.   I read the scripture  Matthew 13:24-30….

” Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:  But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.  So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?   He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?   But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.  Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. “

God allows the unjust of this world to exist as the just does.  Good and bad things happen to the good and the bad.  The main difference is that the good reap eternal blessings and the bad reap eternal curses.  In Ecclesiastes 3:1 it says that to everything there is a season and a time for every purpose.  When we live this life we live in a season that good and evil exist in the same earthly plain.   When we try to live as Christians in this life the devil will try to convince us it is better to not be a Christian or that it is a waste of time.  Satan gives gifts to his people, he makes them stars, allows them to satisfy the flesh in all manner of things, he gives some riches to advance his kingdom.  One thing is certain though, there is a penalty for sin.   This is why we should never focus on earth bound pleasures or desires, because these things are temporary and only serve for a temporary time.  We should never let the abundance of things convince us of our place with God.  Our only hope is a relationship with Jesus Christ.  When Jesus Christ returns there will be a separation.  Those that have embraced Jesus will go to heaven and the unholy will go to hell.   This is the time where the wheat and the tares will be separated.     Since the fall of Adam and Eve, this world has lost its place with God.  He is only now interested in the wheat in the earth because they are the ones that have accepted Jesus as lord and savior and have been counted righteous before God.  We are approaching the time quickly for Christs return.  This time called the “Harvest” is a time of joy and excitement for those that have inherited eternal salvation.  I would encourage you if you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your lord and savior to do so now.  It will bless you for an eternity!
