Are You Ready For Battle?

Are You Ready For Battle?

Being Ready For Battle

A few years ago I visited the assisted living home for the elderly for weekly bible study.  I expected this week to be as usual….We sit and talk about God and his wonderful blessings.  We laugh, we discuss, we pray for the sick and troubled.  It is always a warm and cozy place to minister the gospel.  As I walked around greeting everyone, I spotted a new attendant for the bible study.  She was sitting over in the corner and so I excited walked over to her to introduce myself.  She was mumbling to herself and I picked up her hand and said hello.  She immediately looked at me with these cold eyes and said a few times, “WE DON’T WANT A WAR ” .  My spiritual senses immediately perked up and I felt God’s anointing rise up in me.  Not wanting to bring too much attention I started to speak to her about Jesus.  Her mouth locked up and it was as if she wanted to but her mouth couldn’t speak.  I moved on to the rest of the group and sat down to begin bible study.  The woman quickly left to area where we had gathered.

I realize the reason that God brought that to my attention, is to keep me on my feet spiritually at all times.  In the spirit realm there is a battle going on constantly.  A spiritual war that won’t come to an end until Christ’s return.  It amazes me how demonic forces always recognize Gods children but we many times can’t discern their presence.  This is the reason why the bible says to pray always having faith in God, because we never know when Satan will try to gain an advantage on us.  When can not take for granted comfortable environments and carnally peaceful places.  Many times evil will hide were peoples guard is down so that the devil may attack.  Satan desires to destroy us all so we must be watchful and prayerful.
1Peter 5:8  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Luke 22:31  And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
Growing up I often viewed Christianity as something you just kind of do and sit back a believe.  I never read the scripture about how we are soldiers in the army of the lord.   It became real to me when I first truly chose Christ as a man.  It was as if I had entered a battlefield and if I didn’t fight I would become captive.  This was so different than I understood it to be, yet I am happy that I made the choice.   When I was unsaved Satan could bring me into alot of bondage and I would never know that it was him.  Even though life wasn’t so bad from a natural perspective I realize that I was dead in the spirit and headed for hell.  Now that I am dead to the flesh but alive in the spirit I fight the real battle not caring for natural things but the things of the spirit.
If you are going to fight the good fight, you have to be committed to God  and know that in this life you will have trouble.  You have t0 live a life that is ready for battle.

John 16:33 These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace.  In the world ye shall have tribulation:  Be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
